MANCHESTER - English football giant Manchester United’s second striker Carlos Tevez won’t be playing for the club next season.

“His advisors informed the club that, despite the success he has enjoyed during one of the club’s most successful periods, he does not wish to continue playing for Manchester United. The club would like to thank Carlos for his services over the last two seasons and wishes him good luck for the future” Sky News quoted a statement released by the club, as saying.

Earlier, Tevez had declared that was deeply unhappy at perceived lack of match action, despite the fact that he made more appearances than either Wayne Rooney or Dimitar Berbatov.

Man U’s chief executive David Gill had been in continuous talks with Tevez’s advisor Kia Joorabchian, to keep the Argentine star at Old Trafford.

United had agreed to pay the option price of 25.5 million pounds, and even offered a five-year contract to Tevez, which would have made him one of the highest paid players at the club.

The Argentine will not be short of offers from other clubs, with Manchester City being the favourite to capture him. (ANI)
