Seahawks sign 3rd-round pick WR Butler
RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide receiver Deon Butler, their third-round draft choice, to a multiyear contract.
The team announced Friday that Penn State’s career receptions leader became the fifth of Seattle’s seven draft picks to sign.
Presumed starting outside linebacker Aaron Curry, the fourth overall choice out of Wake Forest, and second rounder Max Unger, a center from Oregon, remain unsigned.
Rookies are due into training camp on Thursday.
Butler was the 91st overall pick in the April draft. He had 179 receptions at Penn State, finished second in school history with 2,771 receiving yards, and third with 22 touchdowns.
