Cardinals sign free-agent fullback
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Free-agent fullback Reagan Maui’a has signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
Financial terms of the agreement, announced Wednesday, were not disclosed.
Maui’a started two games last season for the Cincinnati Bengals and was inactive for three others after being claimed on waivers from the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 3.
He was a sixth-round draft pick of the Dolphins in 2007 out of Hawaii.
Maui’a appeared in all 16 games as a rookie with Miami in 2007. He started nine games and had four carries for five yards.
Arizona was in need of another fullback in camp after fullback Justin Green was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a partially torn knee ligament, ending his season.
The only other fullbacks on the Cardinals roster are Tim Castille and Dan Kreider.
