Michigan’s Forcier will start against Notre Dame
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez says Tate Forcier will start against No. 23 Notre Dame.
Rodriguez had his weekly news conference Monday and insisted junior quarterback Nick Sheridan will rotate with the team’s talented freshmen, Forcier and Denard Robinson, on Saturday at home against the Fighting Irish.
Forcier threw three touchdown passes against Western Michigan and became the third freshman quarterback to start an opener at Michigan.
Robinson had a 43-yard TD run.
Sheridan started four games last year when Michigan lost a school-record nine games. He threw an interception in the opener, hurting his chances of keeping Forcier and Robinson on the bench.
