Jones not expected to play against Seattle
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Jones is unlikely to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks after returning to practice this week from a shoulder injury.
Jones was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report, with coach Mike Singletary saying he is yet to be in game shape. Singletary hopes another week of workouts will be enough for Jones to make his season debut in Week 3 at Minnesota.
Jones, a fifth-year pro in his first season with San Francisco, sustained a small fracture in his right shoulder during training camp Aug. 6.
In February, Jones signed a five-year contract worth $16.5 million with $5.4 million in guaranteed money. He has 112 career catches for 1,380 yards and nine touchdowns.
