Dolphins practice squad player accused of battery
WILTON MANORS, Fla. — A player on the Miami Dolphins practice squad has been arrested after a domestic incident in South Florida.
Twenty-five-year-old Wilfred “Will” Billingsley was released from Broward County jail on $4,000 bond Tuesday. He faces charges of battery and resisting an officer without violence.
According to a Wilton Manors police report, Billingsley’s girlfriend told investigators on Monday that Billingsley tried to throw her out the couple’s front door after they argued and she put his shoes outside. The woman had scratches on her arm and neck.
When an officer tried to arrest Billingsley, police said he pulled his arm away and said he “couldn’t go to jail.”
A Dolphins spokesman declined to comment. It was unclear if Billingsley has an attorney and a phone listing was not available.
