AHMEDABAD - Ahead of India’s three-match test series against Sri Lanka, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has expressed optimism over the team’s bowling and batting prowess.

“I am not worried too much about the bowling, you can say… that doesn’t mean I am worried about the batting side. I am quite happy with the bowlers. Mishra (Amit Mishra) is again one of the bowlers, who had not got a chance for a long time in the one day, is now in the team… and Ojha (Pragyan Ojha) is back. So I think we have got the potential in the side to get any opposition out,” Dhoni said while addressing a press conference.

The first test match between the two countries starts at Motera on Monday (November 16).

Indian team has not played a test since their tour of New Zealand in April while Sri Lanka is ranked second behind South Africa in the official test rankings.

Meanwhile, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will complete 20 years in international cricket when he takes the field in the opening test.

Dhoni said he was excited to play with Tendulkar in the test series and wished him to score a century in it.

“It can’t get better than this, you know playing test cricket after a long time…. Sachin completing 20 years…. his phenomenon, his approach to the game, his passion and the way he has played and conducted himself on being an ideal role for the past 20 years. That’s really amazing and I think I am honoured to share the dressing room with him. It was not in my dreams that I would play with him. So it’s an honour for me. Hopefully, he scores a century,” Dhoni said. (ANI)
