AUCKLAND - New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori has been cleared to take part in the upcoming three-match Test series against Pakistan.

Vettori had earlier suffered a mild concussion after being struck in the helmet, while batting in the ODI series against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

“He is feeling significantly better and will be available to play in the first Test starting on 24 November,” The New Zealand Cricket said in a statement.

The 30-year-old’s shoulder injury was also assessed by an orthopaedic surgeon, although some structural damage has been found, but it was not expected to affect his ability to bowl, The New Zealand Herald reports.

“Physiotherapy rehabilitation exercises will assist with the ongoing management of this injury. It will not affect his availability for the Test series,” the statement added. (ANI)
