Kolkata Knight Riders gear up for third edition of Indian Premier League

KOLKATA - Dav Whatmore, the new coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is all set to learn from the mistakes of the past and turn the tables on opponents during the third edition of the league next year.
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Whatmore said”I am more interested in looking forward to be able to change the fortunes. There were number of games (in the IPL series) which were close. That is a fact we have to turn around the close games and make them into winning games for us and take each one as it comes along is a much better position.”
In the 2009 IPL season, played in South Africa, the KKR could not make it to semi-finals.
KKR faced further ignominy when they became the lowest scorer in the IPL, bowled out for a paltry 67 on the board against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2009 in South Africa.
Braving the odds the Knight Riders, headed by Sourav Ganguly, are looking forward to make a desperate comeback.
Whatmore has succeeded compatriot Mathew Mott, the former Australian first class cricketer. (ANI)
