LONDON - Tiger Woods has become the butt of jokes on US television amid lurid allegations of infidelity.
Comedians on iconic US show Saturday Night Live poked fun at the ace golfer after a string of women claimed having had affairs with the star, who is married to wife of five years Elin Nordegren, the mother of his two kids.
In the Weekend Update, Seth Meyers, while referring to Woods’ car accident, said: “Last Friday, Tiger Woods hit a tree and a bunch of ladies fell out.”
Woods’ sponsors are sticking with him, to which Meyers responded, “a gesture that only means one thing - women don’t watch golf,” reports the Telegraph.
The billionaire sportsman became embroiled in controversy after smashing his car outside his Florida home on Thanksgiving, seconds after reportedly having a heated argument with Nordegren over his alleged affair with New York socialite Rachel Uchitel.
Both Woods and Uchitel have denied the rumours but since then as many as nine women were said to have stepped forward, including 24-year-old former reality television contestant Jaimee Grubbs and Las Vegas nightclub promoter Kalika Moquin, with claims of romancing the golfer.
Woods, 33, confessed to letting his family down with “transgressions”, promising to “strive to be a better person, and the husband and father that my family deserves.” (ANI)
