Jamie Varner In World Extreme Cagefighting

SACRAMENTO, (GaeaTimes.com)- Jamie Varner, a popular name in the World Extreme Cagefighting arena has returned to the fighting ring. A year ago, he had taken a hiatus from the game after sustaining an injury in a tough fight against Donald Cerrone. Leaving the fight incomplete and not competing with Donald Cerrone again had raised several speculations and he wanted to prove himself on Sunday night. He expected to make a stunning return to cagefighting world by defeating Ben Henderson, in the WEC match. Fans anticipated to see some outstanding strokes from their favorite fighter but were disappointed as the game was overpowered by Ben Henderson.

The fight between Ben Henderson and Jamie Varner was anticipated to be the strongest fight of World Extreme Cagefighting this week, as both of them hold incredible records in this field. Jamie Varner, who wanted to return to fame, had been in an attacking mood from the very beginning and pounced on his opponent in the first round. Though Jamie Varner wanted to dominate the match, he could not- as Ben Henderson overpowered him with some unprecedented shots. It appeared that Ben Henderson had formed a strong strategy to claim the title of the match and was not let down by any stroke delivered by Jamie Varner.

The duo had set the World Extreme Cagefighting ring on fire from the onset of the match and held it intact till the second and third round. However, Jamie Varner ultimately submitted to the guillotine choke of Ben Henderson and lost the title of WEC Lightweight.
