Germans sweep luge World Cup doubles races

OBERHOF, Germany — Andre Florschuetz and Torsten Wustlich won their second luge World Cup doubles race of the season Saturday and moved closer to capturing the overall title.

Florschuetz and Wustlich, the Olympic silver medalists, gained their 11th World Cup victory in a total time of 1 minute, 25,567 seconds.

Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt of Germany were .066 seconds back and 2002 Olympic champions Patric Leitner and Alexander Resch of Germany were third.

Florschuetz and Wustlich extended their overall lead with one race left. They have 542 points, followed by Leitner and Resch at 500 and Christian Oberstolz and Patrick Gruber of Italy at 462.
