Vonn rivals say only her own mistakes can beat her

ST. MORITZ, Switzerland — The coach of Switzerland’s women’s ski team thinks that Lindsey Vonn is skiing so well, the only way to beat her is if the American makes a mistake.

Hugues Ansermoz told The Associated Press that there’s no stopping Vonn otherwise.

Vonn is a perfect 5 for 5 in World Cup downhills this season with one more scheduled Saturday before the Vancouver Olympics.

Ansermoz has three skiers who have won downhill races ahead of Vonn in the past two seasons.

But he says they’re now aiming mainly for a place on the podium alongside the dominating American.
