No. 5 Tennessee beats Arkansas 74-57

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Kelley Cain scored 14 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked eight shots as No. 5 Tennessee beat Arkansas 74-57 on Thursday night.

When Cain wasn’t scoring, Alyssia Brewer took over. Brewer led the Lady Volunteers (20-2, 8-1 Southeastern Conference) with 20 points.

The win gave Tennessee its 20th victory for a 34th consecutive season under coach Pat Summitt.

Tennessee scored seven-straight points to pull away from Arkansas (9-13, 1-8) in the first half. Glory Johnson missed her first free throw attempt but sank the second to give the Lady Vols an 18-10 lead.

Angie Bjorklund scored all of her 17 points after halftime to help the Lady Vols pull away.

Charity Ford’s 18 points led the Razorbacks, who threatened with nine 3s, 11 steals and 10 fastbreak points.
