‘Lugar Dies Youtube’ Video Taken Down From Web

VANCOUVER (GaeaTimes.com)- The opening ceremony of the recently inaugurated Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 was a glitzy and spectacular event with hundreds of athletes and team officials joining the event. However, the opening of the grand event was not without its share of sad incidents. Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian Luger succumbed to death while he was on training run after meeting a terrible accident. This was totally unexpected and the tragic incident cast a shadow of gloom over the Olympic opening ceremony. The officials and participants mourned his death. A YouTube Video showing the incident was put on the web shortly after the accident. However, the ‘Lugar Dies’ video was removed by Google later.
It is not clear why Google took down the ‘Lugar Dies’ video but even for the short time it was available the YouTube site was accessed by thousands of viewers. They wanted to find out why the young athlete met with his tragic fate. He reportedly hit a metal pole and the injury proved to be fatal for him. Several attempts were made to bring him back to life and he was also taken to a hospital just after the mishap. However, the doctors could not keep him alive despite their best efforts. As per the news, preliminary efforts were made to start breathing before he was taken to the hospital.
The ‘Lugar Dies’ video created a fair amount of interest among the viewers of 2010 Winter Olympics. It showed what efforts were made to keep the player alive.
