Takahiko Kozuka Missed The Gold

VANCOUVER, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com)- Takahiko Kozuka has currently been placed in the third position in the men’s figure skating championships in the Winter Olympics 2010 that is being held in Vancouver. He had managed to score 90.25 points. Needless to say, it was less than expected that he would be able to secure only the third step, considering that he is one of the most decorated figure skater in the world, holding the 11th position internationally. This position was awarded to him only in January this year. However, a little mistake on his part took away the chance from him of securing the first position in the competition.
Takahiko Kozuka was doing extremely well, in fact, quite along the lines that a figure skater of his stature is expected to perform. However, it was when he was attempting to perform a triple axel that he stumbled, and missed a step. Although he did manage to make up for it somewhat after the stumble and continued a flawless performance till the end, it did not take him up to the first position.
After the performance was over, Takahiko Kozuka was seen in the track, raising a finger. It has also been reported that he was regretting having missed that one step, and for good reason too, as that was the only one blemish in his performance that pushed him down to number three. However, it cannot be denied that although the missed step had come as a great disappointment for the fans of the figure skating champion from Japan, this one performance in no way determines Takahiko Kozuka’s mettle in the sport.
