ICC cricket league starts in Nepal

KATHMANDU - The International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket League (WCL) Division 5 has started in Nepali capital Kathmandu from Friday, a Xinhua report said.

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal thanked the ICC for giving the opportunity to organize the tournament to the least developed country like Nepal. He also wished luck for the National and visiting teams.

“Our cricketers have done a great job and performed well in previous regional and international tournaments despite lack of infrastructures and facilities,” he said in a speech.

The matches of the tournament featuring six nations and regions, including Nepal, Jersey, Singapore, Bahrain, Fiji and the U.S.

The tournament will conclude on Feb. 27. (ANI)
