Olympic Medal 2010 Count: Winter Olympics 2010

San Francisco (GaeaTimes.com) – The United States is still in the lead of 2010 Winter Olympics Medal Count. They have started to pile up some gold medals over the last few days and their total gold medal has now touched six with six other silver medals and 8 Bronze medals making the total count of medals reach twenty.
Lindsay Vonn, Hannah Kearney and Shaun White should be thanked for the six gold medals as we enter into the ninth day of Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver. There is now the opportunity to add some more to their total on as there are six medal events scheduled on Saturday. In the woman’s Super G Alpine Skiing events, Lindsay Vonn and Julia Mancuso is expected to be successful to grab some medals for their country. Among the other events there is Men’s Ski Jumping, Men’s 1000m, Women’s 1500m Short Track Speedskating, Men’s 1500m Speedskating and Men’s 30 km cross country skiing.
Among the other winners, Germany has the second spot with a total of 13 medals with 4 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. Norway is at the third position with 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 Bronze medals counting to a total of 10 medals so far. The other positions are held by Canada, France, South Korea, Austria, Russia, Switzerland and China with a total of 8, 7, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4 medals respectively.
Update : Lindsay Vonn won a bronze making the U.S. ski team medal count rise by one. Vonn chose to play it safe near the end of her run as she had outpaced her competition. She was in the lead, a second gold medal within her sights but her strategy proved fatal to her chances of winning another gold medal.
