I have no venture in Kochi bid: Tharoor

KOCHI - Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor on Sunday denied his involvement in bidding for Kochi based Indian Premier League (IPL) team, but accepted that he did facilitate and encourage the undertaking.
“Kochi making it through IPL is of national significance. I think all the associates of IPL will certainly give Kerala a sort of dynamism and energy, which I am sure, will inspire people. I am very happy about this,” said Tharoor.
“My own role has been limited to blessing and encouraging this venture because I feel very strongly that Keralites in India and abroad need something like this. I think it will help in the transformation of Kerala and that is my spirit,” he added.
Tharoor, however, claimed that he had no involvement with the Kochi bid.
