Defending champion Roberta Vinci reaches semifinals in Barcelona Ladies Open

Vinci, Schiavone roll into Barcelona Ladies semis

BARCELONA, Spain — Roberta Vinci of Italy has reached the semifinals of the Barcelona Ladies Open with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland.

Top-seeded Francesca Schiavone of Italy also advanced Thursday with a 6-4, 6-4 win over seventh-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain.

Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan beat Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-4, while Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania defeated Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
