Coyotes’ Doan out for Game 7 against Red Wings
GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Phoenix Coyotes scratched injured captain Shane Doan from their lineup for Game 7 against the Detroit Red Wings.
Doan hasn’t played since his right shoulder took the brunt of his collision with the endboards early in the second period of Game 3 in Detroit.
The forward is the only remaining member of the last Coyotes team to play a Game 7, in 1999 against St. Louis.
Doan had a goal and an assist in the first two games of this first-round series and led the Coyotes with 55 points in the regular season.
The winner of Tuesday night’s game will play the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference semifinals.
