South Korean woman first ever to climb world’s 14 highest mountains

LONDON - A South Korean mountaineer has made history in the Himalayas by becoming the first woman to scale the world’s 14 highest mountains
Oh Eun-Sun achieved the feat when she reached at the summit of the Annapurna, which stands at 8091 metres, making it the 10th-highest summit in the world and one of the 14 “eight-thousanders”.
The 44-year-year-old planted a South Korean flag on the peak of the mountain to celebrate her achievement, The Telegraph reported.
Annapurna, at 26,545ft (8,091-metre) above sea level, was the last of the 14 Himalayan peaks above the 8,000-metre level she had wanted to conquer.
Eun-Sun narrowly defeated a Spanish rival, Edurne Pasaban, who was also seeking to become the first woman to scale all 14 peaks, and had only the Mount Shisha Pangma left on her list. (ANI)
