Lookin At Lucky could run in Preakness
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Trainer Bob Baffert says he’s leaning toward running beaten Kentucky Derby favorite Lookin At Lucky in the Preakness.
Baffert said Thursday there’s a 51 percent chance Lookin at Lucky will be at Pimlico for the second jewel of the Triple Crown next Saturday. That’s up from the 50-50 odds Baffert gave after the Derby.
The 3-year-old colt jogged 1½ miles at Churchill Downs on Thursday in his return to the track after finishing sixth in the Run for the Roses.
Lookin At Lucky went off as the favorite despite starting from the rail. He struggled to find any running room before making a late run to sixth under jockey Garrett Gomez.
Baffert joked he should change his colt’s name to Lookin At Aluminum because of all the trouble he ran into behind eventual winner Super Saver.
