NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- Though all was not very exciting about the Saturday baseball game between the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants, the game has led to the capture of a funny moment which has been raging high on the Web since Saturday. A reputed media source caught Keith Hernandez fall asleep in the middle of the game while he was still in the broadcast booth. The New York Mets’ baseball analyst who is famous for his own tenure as an All Star baseball player seemed tired and even did not mind to doze-off while on duty.
There is no doubt that sometimes the baseball game goes slow enough to bore the audience. Dozing on the audience’ seat is quite common as well for some baseball games but it is perhaps for the first time that a game announcer has fallen asleep while still sitting in the broadcast booth with a microphone in front. The video that has been up-loaded by different website on the internet is being searched by many who are curious to see whether Keith Hernandez had really fallen asleep. The video has turned viral on the Web.
Some media reports claim that Keith Hernandez not only fell asleep for a few seconds but also went on to take a short nap as the game passed into the extra innings. He was later awakened by another member of the broadcast team. However after his short nap Keith Hernandez did not fall asleep again during the game and continued with his job. The incident has however turned out to be a bad publicity for Keith Hernandez who had won two New York Emmy Awards this year.
