Canucks’ Salo skates, playing status up in air
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Sami Salo of the Vancouver Canucks is listed as a game-time decision after the defensemen took part in the morning skate before Game 6 of the team’s playoff series against Chicago.
Salo is trying to return to the lineup for Tuesday night’s game after leaving Sunday’s game in the first period with a groin injury. He was hit in the groin by a slap shot from Duncan Keith, and had to be helped off the ice.
The Blackhawks lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.
Salo averages more than 20 minutes of ice time, plays against Chicago’s top forwards, and anchors the power play and penalty kill. Coach Alain Vigneault says a decision would be made after Salo takes part in the pregame warmup.
