NASCAR Hall of Fame Opening Day Ceremony

Charlotte, North Carolina (GaeaTimes.com) NASCAR Hall of Fame is built to honor the drivers who have shown exceptional skills at NASCAR driving. The city of Charlotte, North Carolina was chosen by NASCAR in 2006 to build its Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame will be officially opened today in a star studded ceremony. In the hour long ceremony, there will be representatives of NASCAR’s past and present along with Charlotte area dignitaries and North Carolina governor Beverly Perdue.

It is reported that $195 million was spent on the project and the NASCAR Hall of Fame is touted to be one of the biggest and most technologically advanced Hall of Fame for Professional Sports. The 150,000 sq. ft building will also have some interactive activities like racing simulators and 154 video screens. Inside the Hall, there is a High Octane Theater with nearly 300 seats. Visitors will be shown a 12 minute orientation film on NASCAR history. There is a Ceremonial Plaza where outdoor special events can be held. It is reported that NASCAR Hall of Fame will induct five members of its inaugural class on May 23.

The prices of the tickets are set at $19.95 for the adults and $12.95 for the children of ages 5 to 12. Entry fee for youngsters below 5 are free. Seniors and military persons will enjoy a fee of $17.95. Members can have unlimited entry for one year. The membership charges are $25 for children and $50 for adults.
