Miami, Shannon agree on new 4-year deal
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Randy Shannon has received a new four-year contract from Miami after the sides worked on trying to get a deal done for more than a year.
Shannon has gone 21-17 in his first three seasons with the Hurricanes. The 2010 season would have been his last under his existing contract, but the pace of talks increased in the last several weeks and an agreement in principle was reached about a week ago.
Miami announced Wednesday night that Shannon signed the deal.
