NEW DELHI - There will be no problem in managing security and traffic if the timing of the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games is changed, Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal said Friday.

“The opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games is on Oct 3 which is a Sunday. So in case the timing is changed, we will not have any problems either in managing security or traffic,” Dadwal told IANS.

“Whatever the timing may be, we will manage it,” he said while reacting to media reports that the timing of the opening ceremony was proposed to be changed from the scheduled 7 p.m. to 5.50 p.m.

When asked if he has received any information about the change in schedule, Dadwal said: “I am not aware of it.”

However, the creative group, which has conceived the opening and closing ceremonies of the event, has raised concerns about the change in timing saying it would ruin the laser show and special effects planned for the event.
