Serbia, Ghana 0-0 after 15 minutes

PRETORIA, South Africa — Ghana started well against Serbia in the opening match of Group D Sunday, but couldn’t score through 15 minutes.

The Black Stars were on the attack more or less from the start, with Anthony Annan volleying wide after just two minutes.

In the fourth minute, Asamoah Gyan put a free kick over the crossbar after Prince Tagoe was brought down by Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic.

It’s the first game at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, which was three-quarters full at kickoff.
