Greece leads 2-1 against Nigeria after 75 minutes
BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa — Vassilis Torosidis scored to give Greece a 2-1 lead over 10-man Nigeria after 75 minutes of their Group B match at the World Cup.
Torosidis tapped in a rebound in the 71st to put Greece ahead after Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama bobbled a hard drive by Alexandros Tziolis.
Nigeria had a chance to pull ahead in the 59th minute, but Greece keeper Alexandros Tzorvas denied Yakubu Ayegbeni’s shot from 10 yards.
Kalu Uche scored for Nigeria in the 16th on a free kick from 35 yards. Striker Dimitris Salpingidis equalized for Greece just before halftime.
Nigeria’s Sani Kaita was sent off in the 33rd for kicking Greece’s Vassilis Torosidis.
