Cameroon 1-0 up against Denmark after 30 minutes
PRETORIA, South Africa — Samuel Eto’o scored his first goal of the World Cup to put Cameroon 1-0 up against Denmark after 30 minutes of their World Cup on Saturday.
Eto’o slotted the ball past goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen after Christian Poulsen’s pass to Simon Kjaer was intercepted in the 10th minute.
Cameroon controlled the ball during much of the first half hour, with Achille Webo proving a consistent threat to the Danish defense.
Denmark’s best chance fell to Dennis Rommedahl, who shot high in the seventh minute after being put through by Poulsen.
Loftus Versfeld was around three-quarters full at kickoff.
