Argentina, Greece tied at 0-0 after 30 minutes
POLOKWANE, South Africa — Argentina and Greece are tied at 0-0 after 30 minutes in their Group B match at the World Cup on Tuesday.
Argentina has dominated possession and is making numerous passes but the Greek defense is holding up. Sergio Aguero’s shot in the 18th minute went wide after an attack from the left side, while Greece goalkeeper Alexandros Tzorvas pushed a long-distance strike from Juan Veron over the crossbar in the 19th.
Two days before his 23rd birthday, Lionel Messi is captaining Argentina for the first time. He is Argentina’s youngest captain ever.
Argentina will finish first in the group with a win but can go through to the second round with a loss, depending on the outcome of the match between Nigeria and South Korea.
