Lakers Parade Celebrates Victory

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Thousands of Los Angeles Lakers fans thronged the streets of Los Angeles on Monday with skyrocketing enthusiasm during the victory parade. Anticipation had been running immensely high among all the fans of the Los Angeles Lakers after they registered a scintillating 83-79 victory against the Boston Celtics on Thursday. Although it was a known fact that the Lakers parade would witness the presence of large number of fans, the tens of thousands of ecstatic fans who has gathered for the event, cheering the names of their favorite player was surely a sight to remember.

As the convoy carrying the triumphant players cruised across the city, the fans gave a boisterous cheer while snapping pictures of the NBA champions. This was surely a moment they had been long been waiting for given the fact that many of them were stayed on for hours to take part in the Lakers parade. The Los Angeles Lakers players who were cheered by the fans for their stunning performances during the NBA games were Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynam, Ron Artest as well as Derek Fischer. The Lakers parade commenced from the Staples Center and proceeded towards the Galen Center at the University of Southern California. The celebrations also included tributes to past Lakers players such as Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Although the actual estimate of the crowd has not been provided by the police, authorities have stated that apart from few minor offenses the crowd remained large peaceful. As many as seven people are reported to have been detained by the authorities due to sporadic incidents during the Lakers parade.
