South Korea leads Nigeria 2-1 in World Cup match
DURBAN, South Africa — Park Chu-young scored early in the second half and South Korea leads Nigeria 2-1 60 minutes into their final Group B match.
Both teams are vying for a spot in the knockout round of the World Cup.
Kalu Uche gave Nigeria the lead in the 12th minute, off a cross from Chidi Odiah. The Koreans leveled before the break. Lee Jung-soo met a free kick from Ki Sung-yong to score from close range in the 38th.
South Korea edged the Africans on possession and exploited set pieces, taking the lead with Park’s free kick in the 49th minute.
Nigeria has zero points while South Korea has three, level on points and goal difference with Greece. Argentina has six.
