South Korea, Nigeria level 2-2 in World Cup match
DURBAN, South Africa — Yakubu Ayegbeni scored a penalty kick to level with South Korea 2-2 75 minutes into their final Group B match of the World Cup.
Both teams are vying for a spot in the knockout round.
Kalu Uche gave Nigeria the lead in the 12th minute Tuesday, but the Koreans leveled before the break. Lee Jung-soo tied it and they took the lead when Park Chu-young curled in a free kick in the 49th minute.
Ayegbeni missed an open net in the 67th minute, squandering a wonderful chance, but made amends with the successful spot kick two minutes later
Nigeria has zero points while South Korea has three, level on points and goal difference with Greece. Argentina has six.
