Isner and Mahut keep going, and going, in record-breaking match at Wimbledon

Isner, Mahut: It’s 68-all and still going

WIMBLEDON, England — John Isner of the United States and Nicolas Mahut of France are still deadlocked in the longest tennis match on record.

Picking up at 59-59 in the fifth set, the match continued on serve with no break points and had reached 68-68 in front of a packed crowd on Court 18.

By then, Isner had a total of 111 aces for the match and Muhat 103.

The first-round match was nearing the 11-hour mark stretching over three days. The fifth set alone was approaching 8 hours.

Isner and Mahut split the first four sets Tuesday, before it became too dark to play. They began the fifth set Wednesday at 2:04 p.m., and play was halted at 9:10 p.m., because of darkness.
