Chile and Spain even at 0-0 after 15 minutes
PRETORIA, South Africa — Chile and Spain are tied 0-0 after 15 minutes in their final Group H match at the World Cup on Friday.
Spain striker Fernando Torres has had two efforts sail over the crossbar — a header in the 4th minute after a free kick by Xavi Hernandez and a shot a minute later that took advantage of a defensive lapse by Chile.
Mark Gonzalez had Chile’s first a shot on goal in the 10th minute, while Spain is on the attack most of the time.
Chile, with six points, needs only a draw to win the group, while Spain needs a victory to go through to the round of 16. The winner of Group H will face Portugal and the second-place team gets Brazil.
