Brazil leads Netherlands 1-0 after 30 minutes
PORT ELIZABETH, South Africa — Brazil, with a 10th-minute goal by Robinho, leads the Netherlands 1-0 after 30 minutes in a World Cup quarterfinal Friday.
Robinho already had a goal ruled offside when he ran onto Felipe Melo’s low pass up the middle of the field and finished with a low shot to put the five-time champions ahead.
Juan, on a cross from Daniel Alves, nearly made it 2-0 in the 25th minute. His shot from in front of keeper Maarten Stekelenburg went over the net.
John Heitinga of the Netherlands received the first yellow card of the match from Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura in the 14th minute. The Dutch had few scoring chances.
