SYDNEY - Australian pacer Ben Hilfenhaus is all set to return to the Test side following Ryan Harris’ knee injury.

The 27-year-old Tasmanian swing bowler is ideally suited to English conditions and was Australia’s most successful pacer during last year’s 2-1 loss in the Ashes series.

Harris injured his right knee during Saturday’s final match of the one-day series against England at Lord’s, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Harris is headed home and Hilfenhaus is in line to come back in the side following his recovery from knee tendonitis that sidelined him for most of the Australian summer.

“He will take no further part in the Twenty20 or Test matches against Pakistan in England and will return to Australia for further assessment,” Australian physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said on Sunday.

Others in contention are in-form South Australian Peter George and Victorian seamer Clint McKay.

Youngster Josh Hazlewood is the other fast bowler having a chance of selection, but is yet to leave England after touring with the one-day side and making his international debut last month in Southampton. (ANI)
