LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The cops detained JaMarcus Russell on Monday afternoon after the Los Angeles Raiders quarterback was accused of illegal possession of codeine syrup. JaMarcus Russell has been a primary suspect for codeine consumption and was taken into custody in an undercover investigation.

JaMarcus Russell has been the center of discussion as his teammates have often complained about his work ethic and his being over weight. Lori Myles who happens to be the spokeswoman for Mobile County Sheriff’s Office was the first to have reported the arrest of JaMarcus Russell to the media. The cops released JaMarcus Russell from the Mobile Metro Jail after a bail payment of $2,500. Codeine syrup is considered to be an enhancer to the after effects of alcohol. It was said that JaMarcus Russell used to consume codeine on a daily basis which was also the reason for his overweight. Los Angeles Raiders didn’t make any comment on the case. After he was released by the cops, JaMarcus Russell and his agents were seen nowhere and even refused to answer calls or emails. JaMarcus Russell’s ex teammates from Oakland told the media that they were all aware of the fact how JaMarcus Russell loved to party and that he consumed alcohol on a daily basis.

JaMarcus Russell reminds of Houston rapper Al D who was also charged for a similar case of codeine syrup possession in 2007. The rapper unlike JaMarcus Russell told the media that codeine did a lot to add up to his flab. The rapper said that he weighed 180 when he started consuming codeine but in a few months he weighed 240 only because of the high percentage of sugar in the drink.
