Nate Montana Arrested At Party

SOUTHBEND, INDIANA (GaeaTimes.com)- Nate Montana, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana was arrested last Friday night at a party for underage drinking. The Police arrested a total of 44 people after they responded to a call about a fight near roadway in Southbend, Indiana and discovered the party. St. Joseph County Police assistant chief Bill Redman said that two non-athletes faced misdemeanor charge of providing alcohol to the minors.
Nate Montana, the football quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and other 10 Fighting Irish athletes in the party that night enjoying their time when a fight broke out leading to the arrest of the whole bunch of people present there. The players will be taken to court on July 30, 2010 and if convicted, they would face a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail. St. Joseph County Police assistant chief Bill Redman said that the most players who were arrested had been released on $150 bond. The Notre Dame head coach was asked about the reported arrest and he answered that if there was any team-related discipline to be issued, that would be “handled internally”.
Nate Montana or his father Joe Montana were not found for any comments. The other players arrested along with him were Robby Toma and Tai-ler Jones, the wide receivers, Steve Filer, Nick Tausch, Lo Wood, Chris Watt, Tate Nichols, Eric Atkins, Steven Summerhays and many others. The sports information director of Notre Dame, Bernie Cafarelli said that the basketball coach Mike Brey would also would handle punishment internally. The players are now waiting for their verdict at the end of this month.
