1,000 Uttar Pradesh cops for CWG

LUCKNOW - At least 1,000 Uttar Pradesh policemen would be deployed to assist the Delhi government in the smooth conduct of the Commonwealth Games in the capital Oct 3-14, an official said Saturday.

Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal said: “About 20 percent of the required policemen would be sent within a week so that they can be trained for the type of duties they would doing.”

“In view of the Games, security would also be intensified in four districts adjoining Delhi — Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Mathura,” he said.
