Olivier Rochus upsets Philipp Petzschner 6-2, 6-3 at Croatia Open

Rochus beats 5th-seeded Petzschner at Croatia Open
UMAG, Croatia — Olivier Rochus has upset fifth-seeded Philipp Petzschner 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of Croatia Open on Tuesday.
Rochus didn’t face a single break point. He will now face Andreas Seppi, who defeated Maximo Gonzalez 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
Seppi now has a 7-2 record since early July, reaching the semifinals in Hamburg and the quarterfinals in Bastad, Sweden.
Potito Starace beat Sergiy Stakhovsky 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-0, and Jan Hajek beat Gerald Melzer 6-4, 6-3. He will meet Melzer’s brother, Jurgen, in the next round.
Stephane Robert beating Olivier Patience 6-3, 6-2. Robert will next meet top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko, who had a bye in the first round.
Also advancing to the second round were Pablo Cuevas, Simone Bolelli and Ivan Dodig.
