Lorenzen Wright Found Dead Near Southeast Memphis

New York (GaeaTimes.com) - The 34 year old former Cleveland Cavalier and University of Memphis basketball player Lorenzen Wright’s corpse was found in southeastern Memphis in a densely wooded area.

Police found that the corpse was robbed of more than thousand dollars. The body was discovered by police in the wooded area of Hacks Cross and Winchester Road, on Wednesday July 28 2010. He was found with several gunshot wounds. There is no information about those who might have shot him.

Missing since 19 of July his mother filed a missing complaint on 22 of July. Wright was believed to carry heavy amount of cash when he was last seen in downtown of Memphis. Wright a native of Memphis was in the town on a visit. He intended to visit his 6 kids and a friend.

He planned to drive back to Atlanta with his friend and kids when he disappeared. The missing complaint filed by his mother contradicted his father’s statement. His father stated that he is on a vacation to Europe.

Wright became a hometown hero for Memphis when he played for the University of Memphis then for Memphis Grizzles. Wright joined Cavaliers in 2008 but played only one season.

In 1996 Wright was 7th overall pick by the LA clippers and played for Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzles, Sacramento Kings during 2008-2009 season.

Huge number of people converged on the scene causing traffic disturbance. Police had to try hard to get the body into the command truck. That incident shows how much he was admired by the locals.
