Favre shows up at high school practice again
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Brett Favre says his decision whether to play for the Minnesota Vikings this season is “not about the money.”
Favre was asked Wednesday if the Vikings are offering more money to lure him back for a 20th NFL season. He says he’s been in touch with the team in “they know what’s going on with me.”
On Tuesday, a Vikings player said Favre texted teammates and said he planned to retire. The former league MVP told the Vikings his surgically repaired left ankle is not responding well after offseason surgery.
Favre was scheduled to make $13 million next season, the second year of a two-year deal worth $25 million. He spent Wednesday morning on the practice field at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Miss., tossing a football with players in warmups. He then helped an assistant coach during drills.
