Trainer: Lookin At Lucky (fever) won’t run Travers

NEW YORK — The trainer of Preakness and Haskell Invitational winner Lookin At Lucky says the horse came down with a fever this week and won’t run in the Travers on Aug. 28 at Saratoga.

Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert says on his Facebook page that the 3-year-old colt is responding well since developing a “little temperature” Monday, the day after winning the Haskell at New Jersey’s Monmouth Park.

Lookin At Lucky remains at the Jersey Shore track while he recuperates. The track’s attending veterinarian said Thursday the colt is “bright and alert” and doing well.

Lookin at Lucky, last year’s 2-year-old champion, took a big step toward the 3-year-old title with his four-length win in the Haskell.
