NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- 28-year-old Dustin Moseley, who was scheduled to join the New York Yankees team on Monday at the Yankee stadium, had to take to the field a day earlier on Sunday night after starter A.J. Burnett suffered an injury on his back during a practice session. However, the 28-year-old righthander who joined the team on a notice of just 24 hours came forward with a great play and led the team to get a 7-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Despite his playing technique being markedly different from A.J. Burnett, he was able to adjust well with the team and restrict the opponent from making runs and strikes.

As per the reports, Dustin Moseley did not have the idea that he was scheduled to pitch on Sunday. The player however pitched well and allowed only two runs over an innings of 6-1/3. He blocked the Boston Red Sox from getting runs with his deft play and allowed only two strikes. He went for five strikes to lead the New York Yankees to success. The player was actually inducted into the team to take the position of injured Andy Pettitte.

The New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said to media sources that Dustin Moseley was informed on Saturday night that he might have to join the team on Sunday to replace A.J. Burnett. Joe Girardi added that he was not concerned about Dustin Moseley “handling it [game]“. While the manager seemed confident about the player many of the New York Yankees fans were skeptical about the decision of the team and the capability of the player. However, on Sunday night Dustin Moseley was able to prove his worth.
