NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com) — The entire field was ready for a clash between AJ Burnett vs Josh Beckett, two hard-throwing, old-school pitchers facing off in Yankee Stadium. But unfortunately, AJ Burnett was scratched before last night’s game due to back spasms, and hence Dustin Moseley was called upon to step up. Facing an enormous challenge, Dustin Moseley took the field and threw the game of his life.

This young man is the exact opposite of AJ. His fastball tops out at 90 mph, and he doesn’t possess shut-down stuff. He relies on control to get outs, much like Greg Maddux. So several question were raised regarding his inclusion in the team. But Dustin single handedly steered the Yankees to the big win against the Red Sox. As an emergency starter, Moseley out-dueled Josh Beckett last night at Yankee Stadium, pitching six and a third innings, allowing two hits, two runs and striking out five while leading the Yankees to a 7-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Perhaps the best thing for him was not knowing that he was pitching last night. He had no time to plan his strategies or to learn about Red Sox players. The only thing he could do was to focus all of his energies on getting ready to pitch. And he did that with absolute grace and perfection. He didn’t just give the Yankees a chance to win. He shut down the Red Sox from all possibilities and offered them no help at all.

It’s amazing that, even a day before, Dustin Moseley was not supposed to be on the pitch for that game. But for the Yankee fans, good thing that he was there when the team needed him the most!! Good going mate! We wish you all the very best for your next games.
