Michigan CB Troy Woolfolk hurt, taken to hospital
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan cornerback Troy Woolfolk was taken to a hospital after being injured during practice.
Coach Rich Rodriguez says in a statement that Woolfolk sustained a “lower body injury” Tuesday afternoon. The coach declined to elaborate.
Woolfolk’s father Butch told the Detroit Free Press that his son dislocated his ankle and had bone and ligament damage. Butch Woolfolk was a Wolverines running back and played for the NFL’s New York Giants, Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions.
Troy Woolfolk is a 6-foot, 195-pound senior from Sugar Land, Texas, and was considered a key to Michigan’s defense this season.
He was a 12-game starter last season and made 46 tackles, with one pass breakup.
