Commonwealth Games Theme Song 2010 Released

GURGAON, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The veteran Indian music director and singer A.R.Rahman released much anticipated Commonwealth Games Theme song in a glittering function at Gurgaon’s Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon, yesterday. The music maestro enthralled the audience with “Jiyo, Utho, Badho, Jeeto”, the theme song for the Commonwealth Games 2010. The energetic song calls for everyone to be a part of Commonwealth Games 2010.

The Commonwealth Games 2010 will be held in India for the first time and the opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Speaking about the Commonwealth Games theme song the Oscar winning singer said that the whole journey of composing the song was not that easy. He said that he wrote the first six lines six months ago and then it was modified a lot of times after that. The “Jai Ho” singer said that he kept “tweaking” it and finally finished it on last Friday. However, he also added that it was an honor for him to compose the song. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda graced the theme song launch function in Gurgaon yesterday.

The media reports that A. R. Rahman will perform the Commonwealth Games Theme Song during the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi on October 3. Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi said that A.R. Rahman is one of the jewels of India and he has done an “excellent” job with the Theme Song for the Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee urged the people of India to be a part of the event and cheer for the athletes.
